- Assisting in month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Creating expense reports and coding to correct GL accounts.
- Allocating project costs per PM’s or Senior Accountant’s instructions.
- Setting up new vendors in the accounting system.
- Confirming payment details with vendors and customers.
- Following up on old cheques before stale date.
- Maintaining accurate accounting records, digitally and physically.
- Working with Accounts Payable to obtain unentered invoices, review with project team and prepare JVs.
- Review cheque release & compliance requirements for all physical cheques.
- Minimum 2-year diploma with a specialization in accounting, business, or project accounting.
- 1-2 years’ experience as an Accounting Assistant or similar role.
- SAGE or QuickBooks experience is an asset.
- Primarily works in a standard office environment with minimal exposure to physical hazards.
- May encounter high-stress situations, especially when dealing with multiple projects and tight deadlines.
- This position requires that the candidate will be in front of a computer for long periods, up to 8 hours a day.
- Potential discomfort when working with computers for long periods may happen.
- 1 - 2 years: Accounting assistant or similar position
- College Diploma (2yr) or better in Accounting or related field
- Associate's degree or better in Accounting or related field
