About This Job

Position Summary

We are seeking a Product Owner with a strong background in electrical engineering and hands-on experience in electricity meters, power monitoring devices, and protection relays. The ideal candidate will act as the bridge between business objectives and engineering execution—translating technical insights into actionable product requirements, ensuring alignment between Sales, R&D, QA, Marketing, and Operations teams, and driving the successful delivery of new features.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Product Vision & Strategy

· Define and maintain a clear product vision and roadmap aligned with company strategy and customer needs.

· Translate market trends, regulatory standards (e.g., IEC, UL, ANSI, MID) and customer feedback into well-defined product goals.

· Represent the customer’s voice and ensure product decisions align with both business objectives and user value.

· Balance technical feasibility, time-to-market, and business impact when defining product strategy.

· Identify emerging technologies relevant to metering and protection products.

2. Backlog & Requirement Management

· Own and manage the product backlog, creating detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and priority rankings.

· Collaborate closely with internal teams (e.g., Sales, R&D) to clarify requirements and ensure technical feasibility.

· Continuously refine backlog items based on changing priorities, feedback, and development progress.

· Ensure traceability between requirements, verification tests, and certification deliverables.

3. Development Oversight & Delivery

· Participate in product planning, execution of development activities, and periodic project reviews.

· Ensure timely delivery of features that meet quality, safety, and performance standards.

· Provide technical and functional guidance throughout the design, validation, and certification stages (e.g., accuracy class verification, EMC testing, environmental compliance).

4. Stakeholder Communication

· Act as the primary liaison between R&D, sales, and marketing to ensure all teams remain aligned on priorities and progress.

· Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders regarding scope, timelines, and risks.

· Represent the voice of the customer in product design decisions and post-launch improvements.

5. Market and Competitive Analysis

· Conduct competitive benchmarking of products.

· Monitor industry standards, certification requirements, and emerging technologies in metering products.

· Provide input for new product opportunities based on technology evolution and market demand.

· Lead planning and successor product strategy.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related field.

· 3-5 years of experience in product ownership, technical product management, or R&D within the electrical measurement or protection industry.

· Familiarity with electricity meters, protection relays, transformers (CT/VT), and communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, BACnet, DNP3, IEC 61850).

Technical & Professional Skills:

Electrical Engineering Fundamentals:

o Strong understanding of AC/DC measurement principles, three-phase power systems, power factor, harmonics, and energy metering concepts.

o Knowledge of test procedures for performance, insulation, etc.

Agile & Product Management Tools:

o Proficiency with Jira, Notion, or similar tools for backlog tracking, sprint planning, and cross-team collaboration.

o Experience writing user stories, defining acceptance criteria, and managing product roadmaps.

Documentation & Technical Writing:

o Strong ability to produce detailed technical documents that align with marketing and compliance needs.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

o Proven ability to coordinate between R&D, QA, Marketing, Operations, and Sales teams to ensure consistent communication and timely product delivery.

Problem Solving & Analytical Thinking:
