This is a full-time, on-site role for a Pre-Inspector Arborist based in Arrowhead, CA. The Pre-Inspector Arborist will perform pre-inspection assessments of vegetation near utility infrastructure to identify risks, hazards, and necessary maintenance. Key responsibilities include assessing trees for potential hazards, verifying compliance with safety and utility regulations, documenting findings in reports, and collaborating with stakeholders to support corrective and preventative measures. The individual will play a crucial role in ensuring safety and quality in vegetation management operations.
- Knowledge of Arboriculture, including tree species identification, tree health assessment, and hazard tree recognition.
- Experience in Utility Vegetation Management (UVM), pre-inspection processes, and familiarity with utility industry regulations and standards.
- Strong field assessment and report-writing skills, including attention to detail and accuracy in documenting findings.
- Ability to use applicable technology, such as GIS tools and field data collection devices, for mapping and reporting purposes.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with utility representatives, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Self-motivation with the ability to work independently in an outdoor environment in various weather conditions.
- A degree in Forestry, Arboriculture, Environmental Science, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Certifications such as Certified Arborist TRAQ, Utility Specialist with the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) are highly desirable.
