MUST HAVE AUTHORIZATION IN HAND TO WORK WITHOUT SPONSORSHIP FOR THE DURATION OF THE CONTRACT
Provides engineering support and analysis for the integration of large flexible loads into the System. Reviews interconnection studies for large loads and interfaces with Transmission Service Providers to ensure compliance with company and NERC requirements. Performs regular and ad-hoc analyses of large load consumption behaviors and their impact on the reliability of the company interconnection. Develop appropriate tools, displays, policies and procedures to ensure reliable integration of large loads. Serves as a subject matter expert on large load-related topics to company management and other company teams.
Position is open to an Engineer 1, 2, 3, or Sr., based on experience.
- With guidance from management and senior engineers, evaluates large load interconnection studies for accuracy and compliance with company and NERC requirements
- May perform Powerflow studies to assess the reliability of large load interconnection requests
- May communicate company requirements to Transmission Service Providers and entities wishing to interconnect large loads in our system.
- Performs regular and ad-hoc analyses of large load behavior and impacts on our markets and real-time reliability
- Gains knowledge of relevant market rules and departmental procedures
- Evaluates large load interconnection studies for accuracy and compliance with company and NERC requirements
- May perform Powerflow studies to assess the reliability of large load interconnection requests
- Communicates company requirements to Transmission Service Providers and entities wishing to interconnect large loads in our system.
- Performs regular and ad-hoc analyses of large load behavior and impacts on company markets and real-time reliability
- Participates in cross-functional teams to ensure large loads are fully integrated into company models and systems
- Is familiar with ProRelevant market rules and departmental procedures
- Performs all duties of an Engineer 2, as well as the following
- Develops, enhances, and maintains tools and reports for company stakeholders that improve visibility and understanding of large load activity
- Develops and sustains a high-level understanding of the organization's competitive energy markets and their relationship to large load incentives and behavior
- Works with senior engineers and management to propose and develop revisions to company protocols and guides that enhance the reliability of large loads in the company system
- Supports staff representing company in technical committees and subcommittees
- May provide presentations and participate in stakeholder meetings with company personnel and Market Participants
- May provide training on large-load topics to company management and teams
- Performs all duties of an Engineer 3, as well as the following
- Serves as a subject matter expert on large load topics
- Regularly provides presentations and participates in stakeholder meetings with company personnel and Market Participants
- Develop team procedures and documentation in collaboration with management
- Provides training and guidance to less experienced engineers
- May lead cross-functional teams to ensure large loads are fully integrated into company models and systems
- Works proactively with upper management to plan and execute the company's mission and initiatives relating to large load integration· Requires no additional job-related work experience in excess of degree requirements.
· (Preferred) Experience developing situational awareness tools and/or coding
· Requires minimum 1 year job related work experience in excess of degree requirements.
· (Required) Ability to read and understand electrical one lines and drawings
· (Preferred) Experience performing and evaluating Powerflow studies in transmission or distribution systems
· (Preferred) Experience developing situational awareness tools and/or coding
· Requires a minimum of 3 years' job-related work experience in excess of degree requirements.

The base pay range for this role is $40.00 - $56.34/hr. (determined by experience)
· Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge to a major in such fields is required.
