General Summary
Provides assistance to Rayburn Country Electric Cooperative, Inc.’s (Rayburn’s) power supply team.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities / Knowledge
- Conducts complex market and portfolio modeling and analysis to effectively monitor Rayburn’s exposure to market changes.
- Integrates all power supply changes into portfolio model to properly quantify risk.
- Reviews Rayburn’s compliance with power supply hedging and risk management policies
- Possesses/works towards a deep understanding of the ERCOT nodal market to properly capture market structure within the portfolio model.
- Assists with Rayburn’s power supply activities and develops portfolio model with third parties as needed.
- Supports the development of the cost-of-service analysis (COSA) rates and rate schedules.
- Maintains a working knowledge of power supply trends and costs.
- Collaborates with internal departments to analyze power supply issues and billing impacts.
- Complies with all policies, procedures and confidentiality requirements or obligations, including those inherent in this position, effective as a result of employment with Rayburn.
- Timely shares complete information with others including Rayburn management and staff, contractors, and other third parties, as required.
- Delegates jobs and tasks to appropriate employees, providing complete information and resources to properly complete such jobs and tasks.
- Timely provides Rayburn management with complete reports on work and tasks performed as such reports are requested or required.
- Performs any other duties as assigned by supervisor and executive management.
Job Specifications / Skills Required
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Field or Engineering or equivalent experience; Advance degree is preferred.
Experience: 1-5 years prior nodal modeling and analytics is preferred.
Skills
- Experience of energy risk management products, risk management fundamentals, and portfolio management preferred
- Experience and working knowledge of the US electric transmission grid and associated regional transmission organizations and specific experience with the Electric Reliability Council of Texas is preferred
