Under the supervision of the Supervisor – Instrumentation & Control, is responsible for repairing, replacing and general maintenance to power plant steam and combustion turbines, steam generators, valves, air compressors, pumps, fans, air pre-heaters, regenerative feed water heaters and other related electrical equipment.
- High School diploma or equivalent; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Successful completion of a Department of Labor, Bureau of Apprenticeship Training program, or other equivalent electrician training program.
- Must pass a Human Performance Evaluation (HPE).
- Five (5) years experience as an Electrician in a Power Plant or related industrial environment which shall include experience with steam and combustion turbines, steam generators and related auxiliary equipment.
- Knowledge of reliability based maintenance philosophies, precision maintenance procedures, electrical maintenance procedures, power tools and electrical test equipment.
- Ability to diagnose and repair equipment, interpret technical manuals, read and interpret blueprints, construction and fabrication drawings and work under unusual or special conditions.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with officers, managers, supervisors, and fellow employees.
- Ability to maintain a sense of propriety concerning confidential matters.
- Valid drivers license and comply with the Company’s Driving Policy.
- Available to work irregular hours and overtime as required.
- Must Pass a Human Performance Evaluation (HPE).
The following essential job functions are accomplished by utilizing hand and power tools, drill press, lathe, milling machine, pallet-jack, hand truck, dolly, fork lift truck, welding equipment, grinder, paint brush/roller, micrometers, and/or other related equipment and tools.
- Performs general electrical system maintenance, repairs and replacements to Power Plant equipment and/or related components to include turbines, turbine valves, oil systems, EH system equipment, generator, exciter, regenerative heaters, evaporators, deaerators, evaporative condensers, condensers and miscellaneous pressure vessels, steam generators, pre-heaters, fans, ducts, soot blowers, combustion and other related equipment.
- Complies with all applicable Company policies, procedures and code of ethics as well as all applicable governmental laws and regulations to include employment, safety and environmental standards and regulations.
