The Plate Roller Operator is responsible for operating plate rolling machines to bend and shape metal plates into cylindrical or conical forms according to specifications. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to safety standards.
- Set up and operate plate rolling machines to roll metal plates to required dimensions.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
- Adjust machine settings for thickness, diameter, and material type.
- Inspect finished products for accuracy and quality, using measuring tools such as calipers and tape measures.
- Perform basic routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience operating plate rolling machines or similar metal fabrication equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of safety standards in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Standing for extended periods and working in a noisy environment.
