American AVK Company is a leading manufacturer of Gate Valves and Fire Hydrants for the Municipal/City, Waterworks, Industrial, Fire Protection and Irrigation industries. Our market focus is setting up distribution to service the City/Municipal and Contractors within these markets.
1-2 years of successful inside sales experience or equal outside sales. Applicants who are applying based on experience should be able to demonstrate a history of progressively improved results.
We require a positive attitude and sense of urgency, along with sufficient work ethic to achieve the desired results. Must have the proven ability to work independently within a geographic territory and be measured on market share improvement. A successful candidate will be technically competent, a sound presenter, results oriented, highly self-motivated. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Be able to manage their time effectively and be comfortable developing innovative sales initiatives.
This position requires 3-4 nights of overnight travel per week.
A current U.S Passport is required within 90 days of hire date.

Must have selling and negotiation skills, industry knowledge is not required. Experience selling to a multitude of influencer's and decision makers is also a plus.

Territory: PA, NY, NJ, MA, DE, MD, CT, RI
Sales position will require individual to make sales calls on Municipal and Water Utility accounts in PA, NY, NJ, VA, DE, CT, MA, RI, including Contractors, Distributors and Engineering firms. You will also be required to do on hand product demonstrations and training sessions. This position is for the individual that is looking for an opportunity to grow with our Company and looking for a future. During the first 90 days, we help you to focus on identifying opportunities. You will learn and practice all the different methods of identifying prospects, while you develop a solid list of potential opportunities. You'll learn to use our CRM software to track opportunities, generate proposals for your prospective customers, and manage your time on a day-to-day basis.
Your Sales Manager will assist you in evaluating and closing business during your first year.
