About the role
The Mine Engineering Student, which offers an exceptional opportunity to learn and develop skills related to engineering and planning including but not limited to: mine development design and layouts, stope design and layouts, short term scheduling, ventilation, surveying and rock mechanics activities. This role is to recruit for an existing vacancy.
The position will be on a 7 days on / 7 days off roster with day shift and night shift rotations at Campbell Complex. This a local role and will be based residentially in Red Lake, Ontario.
We offer a competitive salary, bonus structure and future growth. The compensation range for this role is $70,365.92 to $86,922.61 CAD.
Key result areas in this role include:
Safely start up, operate and shutdown all equipment within your area of responsibility
Troubleshoot and correct problems within your area of responsibility
Train other operators in the plant and partake in training upgrades
Conduct general clean-up throughout the circuit, reporting potential safety hazards and production problems to the Lead Hand
Work in a healthy work environment with full support, cooperation and commitment to satisfy our operation’s goal of being accident-free
Comply with federal and provincial acts and regulations, and legal requirements
Adhere to all relevant policies and procedures
Perform duties of Operator Mill and other duties as assigned by your supervision within your qualifications
Consistently work in a safe and conscientious manner and comply with all safety procedures
Wear all required personal protective equipment
Observe experienced workers to gain and increase knowledge of methods, procedures, and performance standards
Report any unsafe conditions to your supervisor.
About you
As an Operator Mill, you will have an Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma, and the willingness and mechanical aptitude to progressively advance to higher levels of Mill Operator.
It is also important that you have/ can demonstrate:
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others
Possesses a strong work ethic
Works well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Competent verbal and written communication skills and ability to accurately follow instructions
Flexible and cooperative
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Competent communication abilities
Great attitude, team player, able to work independently, follow instructions where necessary
Great attendance, performance and reliability.
