Position

Operator, Haul Truck, Nunavut

Location and Reporting Structure

Reporting to the Supervisor, Civil Earthworks, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.

Responsibilities

- The safe and efficient operation of Haul Trucks in a construction and mining environment to transport materials and meet targets.

- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip walk around safety inspections of equipment and report any deficiencies to the Supervisor.

- The overall maintenance of equipment to ensure good working condition, and reporting and logging maintenance concerns as required.

- Communicate effectively with team members via two-way radios, hand signals, and other required forms of communication.

- Participate in daily safety toolbox meetings to promote compliance to B2Gold Nunavut’s safety policies and procedures.

- Operate in all types of weather, including rain, fog, and winter conditions.

- Aid in other construction duties related to project development as assigned by the Supervisor.

Desired Competencies and Requirements

- Prior experience operating heavy equipment, haul trucks, wiggle wagons, or related equipment in construction or mining environment considered an asset.

- Valid driver’s license preferred.

- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

- Prior experience working in a remote setting with limited access to resources considered an asset.

Compensation and Benefits

For informational purposes, the estimated annual earnings are $105,417.00 for 2184 scheduled hours (combined regular hourly rate of $38.25 and overtime rate of $57.38) in a work year.
