The Propane Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the propane distribution and storage facility. This role involves managing a team, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, optimizing operational efficiency, and maintaining high customer service standards. The Operations Manager will also play a key role in strategic planning and business development within the propane division.
- Oversee all aspects of propane operations, including delivery, storage, and distribution.
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and ensure safety compliance.
- Monitor inventory levels and manage supply chain logistics to meet customer demand.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate staff, fostering a positive work environment and promoting professional development.
- Manage staffing levels to ensure appropriate coverage for operations, including scheduling and performance evaluations.
- Ensure all operations comply with local, state, and federal safety regulations and industry standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions to promote a culture of safety among employees.
- Maintain high customer service standards and address any operational issues or customer concerns promptly.
- Collaborate with sales teams to identify growth opportunities and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Prepare and manage the operations budget, tracking expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Analyze operational data to drive performance improvements and support strategic decision-making.
- Participate in the development of long-term strategies for the propane division, including market analysis and business development initiatives.
- Identify and implement new technologies and processes to improve operational efficiency.
- Associate's degree minimum requirement, bachelor's degree preferred in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in propane operations or a similar industry, with a proven track record in management.
- CDL, possess an Oklahoma Propane and Gas Administration License or ability to obtain such within 120 days of hire.
- Strong knowledge of propane industry regulations and safety standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with operations management software.
- Ability to lift and move equipment and materials as needed.
- Capable to work in outdoor environments and travelling to various job sites.
