The Opportunity
As our Operations Manager, you will be the backbone of our logistics and warehouse operations in El Cajón, CA. This role is ideal for someone enthusiastic, hands-on, and solution-oriented. You’ll oversee everything from deliveries and transfers to inventory control, ensuring our yard and warehouse teams have the guidance and support they need to operate safely and efficiently. If you have a knack for streamlining processes, inspiring people, and delivering results correctly, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities
•Logistics Management: Oversee all day-to-day shipping and receiving operations, including scheduling deliveries, coordinating inter-branch transfers, and ensuring timely, accurate order fulfillment.
•Inventory Control: Manage inventory tracking systems and conduct regular audits to maintain optimal stock levels. Implement efficient organizing and stocking practices so that materials are stored neatly and easily located.
•Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and supervise yard and warehouse staff, fostering a high-performance team environment built on mutual respect and accountability. Provide clear direction, training, and support to help your team excel and grow.
•Process Improvement & Safety: Identify opportunities to improve operational workflows and implement best practices for efficiency. Uphold strict safety standards and maintain an organized, well-run facility, ensuring all equipment and procedures meet safety guidelines so that every team member goes home safe.
•Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with sales, purchasing, and customer service teams to ensure smooth, coordinated operations. Quickly address any issues with deliveries or inventory and keep stakeholders informed – you’re the go-to problem solver who keeps things moving seamlessly.
What We’re Looking For
•Experience & Expertise: 3+ years of operations or logistics management experience (warehouse, distribution, or construction materials industry preferred). You have a solid understanding of inventory control, dispatch/delivery scheduling, and warehouse best practices.
•Leadership & Team Building: A proven leader who leads by example. You know how to motivate, coach, and develop a team. You hold yourself and others accountable and have a track record of building cohesive, high-performing teams.
•Integrity & Accountability: You do the right thing even when no one’s watching. Reliability and honesty are at your core, and you take ownership of your decisions and results.
•Collaborative Communicator: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You work well across departments, value others’ input, and keep cool under pressure; you solve problems with a team-first mindset rather than pointing fingers.
•Hands-On & Humble: You’re not afraid to roll up your sleeves and work alongside your team – whether helping load a truck or double-checking an inventory count. No task is beneath you when it comes to achieving the mission.
•Organized & Detail-Oriented: You take a methodical approach to managing operations. From schedules to inventory reports, nothing slips through the cracks on your watch.
•Continuous Improvement Mindset: You embrace a growth mindset, always looking for ways to improve processes and learn new skills. You welcome feedback and view challenges as opportunities to innovate.
