Job Description: Room to Roam Fencing, LLC, is currently hiring a permanent crew leader. Room to Roam builds many types of fences including residential, wood, vinyl, chain link, and metal; commercial; and agriculture, barbed wire and woven wire. Our crew leader will become an expert in building all these types of fences. The crew leader will also organize the build ensuring the right materials, equipment, and crew are on site at the right times, as well as evaluate crew members productivity. The crew leader will also oversee maintenance of equipment and vehicles. The crew leader is also a builder, working alongside crew members while providing leadership and quality control. The crew leader will also communicate and work with the company owners and clients. The company owners are also employees of the company and often work alongside the crew. Room to Roam Fencing, LLC, understands that the new crew leader will need training on our policies and procedures, as well as methods for constructing a wide array of fences.
Starting rate of pay: $30 per hour. Health Insurance and Retirement Program after 6 months of employment. Paid leave after one year of employment
This position is full time; however, work can be spotty January through March.
· Experience operating equipment such as skid steer, tractor, side by side, ATVs (quads), air compressors, rock drills, and gas operated pounders.
· Experience maintaining equipment and updating maintenance logs.
· Experience managing crews as large as six people.
· Experience loading, unloading, and pulling trailers with equipment and materials
· Ability to effectively communicate with crew members, clients, and company owners
· Ability to organize schedules, crew responsibilities, and paperwork
· Ability to comply with safety requirements and procedures and ensure the crew does also
· Ability to work long, physically demanding days in all weather conditions
· Valid Idaho driver’s license and clean driving record
· Eligible to drive trucks and trailers with Department of Transportation licensing (DOT numbers). (Requires a physical examination.)
· Willingness to travel as needed. Most of our fencing jobs are local, within 50 miles of Moscow, Idaho. However, we do accept large agriculture and USDA fence jobs up to 3 hours from Moscow. These jobs require travel to the site (lodging and meals provided) and week-long stays, typically 4 days per week, with 10-hour workdays.
