The Operations Manager position is a critical management position within the organization. The ideal candidate will be able to support the company’s vision, manage duties & staff in accordance with company policy, be a proactive team member, uphold client satisfaction, and able to multi-task successfully. As the Operations Manager, they will abide and implement company policy; provide field staff support; able to provide successful collaborations with all departments; and able to manage all assigned tasks and duties while offering mentorship to staff. This position requires capabilities of being able to balance the needs of the company, field staff, client relations, and budget constraints to ensure success of the company. The Operations Manager reports to the Chief Operations Manager.
The Operations Manager achieves objectives by implementing efforts focused on team building, providing effective & efficient communication, client relationships, mentoring staff, completing action plans, maintaining quality, resolving problems, and embracing change.
· Recruit, select, train, assign, schedule, coach, counsel, and discipline employees
· Plan and review compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures
· Contribute operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; prepare and complete action plans; implement productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolve problems; and staff utilization
· Review and approve all operational invoices and ensure they are submitted for payment
· Communicate customer issues with operations team and devise ways of improving the customer experience, including resolving problems and complaints
· Profitability of field operations for Sacramento and San Leandro Office
· Assisting project managers with technical support and having an open dialog regarding project status or problems onsite
· Additional duties include: reviewing field reports & documentation, ensuring deadlines are met, assign dispatch inspections to qualified inspectors, work toward solving field challenges, and reviewing and approving timesheets.
· Accomplishes success in the position by embracing company goals, working with other departments, inspiring assigned staff & driving for positive relationships with peers, coworkers, clients, field personnel, and senior management.
· Supervision of staff includes evaluating assigned staff capabilities including technical, report writing, understanding the building code, interaction with contractors, support of client objectives and adherence to company policies.
· Accomplishes operational mission by supporting and completing operation initiatives.
· 10 plus years of special Inspections or civil inspection experience or related field (some college or greater is desired)
· Certifications should include one or more of the following ICC, AWS, ANSI NDT, ACI, Caltrans or other applicable certification body.
· This individual needs to demonstrate supervisory skills, the ability to work in a team environment and provide examples where they manage a variety of challenges through organizational skills and problem-solving capabilities and the ability of multi-tasking.
· Experience mentoring staff and providing technical expertise. Comfortable communicating with clients, contractors, design professionals, field staff and office staff.
· This position may require reviewing field reports and mentoring staff.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Products, Email, and Adobe programs.
