Position Overview:
Vibranalysis is seeking a highly experienced Lead Inspector to oversee all aspects of structural special inspections. This leadership role is essential to ensuring compliance with building codes, project specifications, and quality standards across our construction projects. The successful candidate will supervise field inspectors, establish inspection protocols, and coordinate with contractors, engineers, and project managers to ensure seamless project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
•Conduct and oversee inspections of fracture-critical connections and structural components including cast-in-place concrete, masonry, structural steel, cold-formed steel, post-installed anchors, and fire-rated assemblies.
•Evaluate field conditions for compliance with NYC Building Code, ACI, AWS, AISC, and project specifications.
•Develop and implement inspection procedures tailored to project-specific requirements.
•Coordinate and lead inspection teams to identify and resolve non-conformances.
•Establish and manage corrective action plans to ensure timely resolution of deficiencies.
•Provide mentorship and technical support to junior inspection staff.
•Maintain comprehensive inspection records and reporting.
•Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and officials to resolve technical issues.
•Stay informed on updates to codes, standards, and best practices.
•Calibrate all concrete field testing equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance.
•Perform all concrete field and laboratory tests to support accreditation audit readiness.
Qualifications:
•Minimum 8–10 years of experience in structural inspections and field supervision.
•Deep knowledge of NYC Building Code, ACI, AWS, and AISC standards.
•Proven leadership in managing inspection teams on building and infrastructure projects.
•Strong technical judgment and problem-solving skills.
•Effective communication skills for interdisciplinary coordination.
•Proficiency in inspection documentation and quality control processes.
Certifications Preferred:
•ICC Special Inspector Certifications (Reinforced Concrete, Structural Steel, Masonry)
•AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
•ACI Concrete Construction Special Inspector
•OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety
