About the Position
The Operations Manager will be responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of project operations to ensure excellence in execution, performance, and profitability. This role plays a critical part in driving operational strategy, improving processes, optimizing resource allocation, and ensuring seamless coordination across departments for all projects.
Responsibilities
•Lead and manage day-to-day operations across field, shop, and project teams to ensure timely and efficient project execution
•Develop and implement operational strategies to drive productivity, cost efficiency, and high-quality outcomes
•Oversee manpower planning and deployment, ensuring optimal use of labor resources across projects
•Manage coordination and timelines between BIM/Engineering, Service, and Fabrication teams
•Ensure logistics, including lodging and travel, are effectively arranged and cost-managed when required
•Drive operational support for project managers with a focus on customer satisfaction, profitability, and quality standards
•Monitor and maintain communication across all teams to align on schedules, priorities, and resource availability
•Lead efforts to continuously improve processes, workflows, and operational policies across departments
•Oversee procurement, inventory management, and material logistics to support timely and cost-effective project delivery
•Support fabrication shop operations, ensuring materials, direction, and resources are aligned with project goals
•Ensure accountability and organization for returned materials and jobsite inventory
•Provide leadership and direction to field and shop personnel, fostering collaboration and performance excellence
•Establish and track key operational metrics to assess performance and implement improvements
•Act as a liaison between project teams, the shop, and executive leadership to align operational goals with company strategy
•Manage vendor relationships and subcontractor performance to ensure standards and deadlines are met
•Perform other tasks as assigned by leadership to ensure smooth operations and organizational efficiency
Minimum Qualifications
•High school diploma or equivalent
•5+ years of progressive experience in construction operations, project management, or related field
•Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and safety regulations
•Demonstrated experience in operational leadership, team management, and resource planning
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
•Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills
•Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under pressure
•Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
Preferred Qualifications
•8+ years of experience in construction or mechanical operations, including team leadership experience
•Experience with ProCore or similar project management software
•Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
•Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams across shop and field environments
•OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour construction safety certification or ability to obtain
