U.S. Pipe is seeking a Director of Operations at U.S. Pipe in a fabrication setting would oversee daily operations, manage a fabrication team, ensure production targets are met, enforce safety policies, manage inventory and equipment, and implement process improvements for efficiency in producing fabricated pipe products for the water and wastewater industries
. Key responsibilities include leading staff, planning production, monitoring workflow and metrics, ensuring quality, and fostering a productive environment in line with company values.
- Production & Operations Management: Lead day-to-day operations, including production planning, scheduling, and execution to meet company goals for the fabrication of pipe products.
- Team Leadership: Manage, motivate, and lead production teams, technicians, and staff to achieve production plans and foster a productive, inclusive work environment.
- Process Improvement & Efficiency: Develop and implement strategies to optimize processes, maximize output, and minimize costs in the fabrication process.
- Quality Control: Ensure that all fabricated products meet U.S. Pipe's high standards and the company's quality policies.
- Health & Safety: Oversee the health and safety of the production environment and enforce all applicable safety regulations.
- Inventory & Equipment Management: Manage inventory levels and oversee the maintenance, repair, and replacement of production equipment.
- Strategic Alignment: Draw on relationships with various stakeholders to make decisions aligned with U.S. Pipe's overall operational and strategic goals.
- Policy & Compliance: Ensure adherence to company policies, standards, and legal and regulatory requirements.
- Experience: A strong background in manufacturing or a fabrication environment, with significant supervisory experience in production, is typically required.
- Education: A Bachelor's degree, preferably in a related field like industrial or supply chain management, engineering, or business, is often preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency with production management tools, MS Office suite, and an understanding of production principals and functions are essential.
