The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a 3rd Class Operating Engineer to join our Maintenance Department team in Sudbury, Ontario. Relocation will be required for this role.

This is a permanent on-site position working shift and supporting a 24-hour operation.

This posting is for an existing position vacancy.

As a 3rd Class Operating Engineer, you will be responsible for the operation of boilers, cooling towers, chillers, compressors, glycol cooling systems and associated auxiliary equipment. Your experience and skills will contribute to scheduled or emergency repairs, and preventative maintenance work to be done.

Additionally, in this position you will:

- Complete written pre-operation checks on all equipment and provide an end of shift report of work completed.

- Participate fully in the Vale Production System (VPS).

- Teamwork will be a key requirement of the role along with the ability to work on one’s own initiatives when required.

- Align with work safety policies and safety regulations.

About You

Trade Certification:

- Minimum 3rd Class Operating/Stationary Engineer Certificate is required.

Experience:

- 1 to 5 years industrial work experience with demonstrated safe work record.

Skills:

- Strong diagnostic skills and judgment.

- Able to take action and/or make decisions affecting security/well-being of others, I.e., alerting others to unsafe conditions.
