Summary

This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Accountant located in Houston, Texas. We will consider Manager position depending on experience. The Senior Accountant will help ensure the delivery of accurate and timely financial reporting on a monthly basis. This will be a multi-faceted role and the Senior Accountant will directly collaborate with the Controller and Chief Financial Officer ("CFO") along with other personnel to ensure efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting.

Responsibilities

•

Lead efforts to analyze and streamline current accounting practices

•

Support and/or lead the monthly closing process, including prepare and/or review journal entries and account reconciliations

•

Produce monthly consolidated financial statements and lease operating statements

•

Analyze financial results, including budget vs. actuals, trend analysis

•

Work directly with the CFO to execute certain treasury duties

•

Assist with certain aspects of vendor management

•

Understand the revenue cycle and process revenue (serve as back up) as necessary

•

Provide audit support, including preparation of schedules and analyses

Requirements

•

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

•

5-7 years relevant experience (minimum of 2 years of upstream oil and gas experience)

•

Must possess strong analytical and accounting skills, including US GAAP

•

Problem-solver who thinks in terms of solutions, not barriers

•

Automation-oriented (or be comfortable with change to streamline execution)

•

Must be adaptable to changes in the work environment, competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events

•

Competency in MS Office and accounting software (OGSYS/OGPro, P2 Excalibur/Bolo, Enertia, or other O&G software)

•

Accuracy and attention to detail, with an aptitude for numbers

•

Excellent organizational and planning skills, individual should prioritize and plan work activities efficiently
