Senior Accountant

We are looking to bring on a Senior Accountant that will inspect and review, but may also prepare and report, financial transactions, and budgetary controls for assigned funds and departments. In addition, they will be responsible to analyze past financial performance to predict future performance to help advise the company on its financial strategy.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
•Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Commission staff
•Train and motivate all accounting staff
Duties/Responsibilities:
•Assist in the month end close process.
•Analyzes financial data, making recommendations as appropriate to improve accuracy, efficiency, and to reduce costs.
•Reviews and/or assists with preparation of financial statements and records provided to federal, state, and internal auditors and similar personnel.
•As needed, assists with accounting duties for and corrections to listed financial records.
•Analyzes expenses and cost transactions; ensures that transactions are recorded accurately and assigned to the appropriate projects and departments.
•Provides detailed financial analysis and reports of expenses, includes breakdowns of project costs, forecasts of remaining expenses, and opportunities to increase efficiency.
•Develop and maintain SOP's for accounting department roles.
•Bank, Credit Card, GL account reconciliations.
•Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
•Expert knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
•Oversee preparation of multi state sales & use tax filings.
•Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
•Excellent analytical skills.
•Thorough understanding of cost accounting principles and procedures.
•Proficient with accounting software.
•Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Education and Experience:
•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required.
•At least five years of related experience required.
•Construction account experience.
•W.I.P., percent complete, time and material
•S.O.V., G702 and G703, AIA documents
Physical Requirements:
•Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
•Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
