ROLE OBJECTIVE:
Reporting to the Executive Leader, Shared Service, the Senior Accountant is responsible for managing all financial aspects of the organization and drive the financial strategy. This role involves managing accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Oversee daily accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance.
•Manage and supervise all members of the finance team including AR, AP and Payroll.
•Month-end reconciliations and closing procedures to prepare accurate monthly financial reporting on a timely basis.
•Maintain account policies and procedures and a system of internal controls.
•Management of company overhead expenses and reporting.
•Comply with local, provincial and federal government reporting and tax filings.
•Develop and manage budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analyses to support strategic decision-making.
•Oversee internal and external audits, addressing any issues or recommendations that arise.
•Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, and provide actionable insights to senior management.
•Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
•CPA designation required.
•Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
•Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Acumatica) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
•Strong understanding of financial principles, practices, and regulatory requirements.
•Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
•Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
•Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $90,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
