We’re a dynamic, family-owned construction company based in Northeast Iowa, proudly serving the community for over 50 years with ambitious growth plans to increase revenue for the next 3 years and beyond. We’re looking for a proactive experienced Bookkeeper ready to take the lead in our next phase of growth.
This role replaces our retiring Office Manager/Bookkeeper and is designed for someone eager who enjoys ownership over the day-to-day financials, while also being curious about budgeting, forecasting, and supporting big-picture business decisions. · Maintain accurate and timely bookkeeping including AR, AP, payroll, and bank reconciliations
· Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and help update forecasts
· Monitor expenses and help identify variances from budget
· Work with Project Managers to track project costs and manage payment timing
· Help create and manage cash flow projections for projects and purchasing
· Support end-of-year processes and coordinate with external CPA
· Help identify improvements in financial systems and workflows (we currently use SAGE)
· An experienced bookkeeper (5+ years preferred) who is ambitious and a self-starter preferably from a construction background
· Comfortable working independently, with an eye toward streamlining and improving systems
· Familiar with job costing, cash flow, and budgeting
· Proficient in SAGE, QuickBooks, or similar accounting software
· Someone who takes pride in accuracy, organization, and keeping things running smoothly
· Open to growing your role over time as the company grows
· Based in or open to relocating to northeast Iowa (Decorah), or a hybrid arrangement.
