- Supervise daily operations of non-ferrous metals recycling activities, including sorting, processing, and material recovery.
- Operate and coordinate heavy machinery such as loaders, forklifts, front loader trucks, roll-off trucks, to handle scrap materials safely and efficiently.
- Oversee loading and unloading of recyclable metals, ensuring proper handling and storage to prevent contamination or damage.
- Maintain strict safety protocols for all heavy equipment operation to protect team members and the environment.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and work areas; coordinate cleaning efforts to uphold cleanliness standards.
- Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to optimize material flow, reduce waste, and improve overall recycling throughput.
- Purchasing of non-ferrous materials in our warehouse.
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, roll-off trucks, and cab over delivery trucks.
- Must have two years experience of purchasing non-ferrous at major scrap yard. Must know all non-ferrous materials and have experience purchasing catalytic converters.
- Strong background in manufacturing or industrial environments with a focus on recycling or waste management.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the workday.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to train and supervise a diverse team effectively.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
