Family-owned FC Ziegler Company has an opening for a Metal Polisher. We are looking for a full-time motivated associate to join our team. Our family-owned company started in 1929 and has grown from a small manufacturing firm to a wide-ranging organization with 9 retail locations, a manufacturing and design branch, a wholesale arm, and a healthy e-commerce website. Job Summary

Responsible for performing precision smoothing, polishing and/or grinding of fabricated metal parts.

Job Duties

- Deburr, grind and polish sheet metal and metal castings.

- Use hand and power wheels/belts to grind and polish brass, bronze, aluminum, gold and silver.

- Read and interpret job travelers, blueprints and/or drawings to determine the specific finish requirements.

- Identify and correct defects to produce a smooth surface to a specified finish.

- Report defects to supervisor.

- Proper setup and operation of standard manufacturing equipment.

- Provide a high level of attention to detail and focus on the task.

- Comply with FCZ standards and procedures for quality.

- Complete assigned work within the given timeframe and according to specifications.

Position Requirements

- Familiarity with shop equipment i.e. various power tools, etc.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with departments within the organization.

- Possess problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

- Maintain a healthy and safe work environment, report any health or safety hazards, and follow the Company health and safety rules

- Must use proper lifting techniques and be able to lift up to 50 pounds +/- or ask for assistance as needed.

- Ability to perform essential physical job functions requiring; seeing, hearing, bending, standing, walking, handling objects, pushing/pulling, and use fine finger movements with manual dexterity.

- Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and temperature fluctuations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
