!!!!This job requires advanced skills in measuring, fitting, problem-solving, and building based on 3D models and drawings. If you can only weld pre-assembled items together, this job may not be right for you!!!
We need skilled individuals who are good at working with metal and can understand measurements. You should be able to follow 3D models and drawings to put metal parts together correctly. We also need someone who can solve problems that may come up during the fabrication process. If you think you have these skills, we want to hear from you!
We are looking for a talented metal fabricator to build high-quality metal components for our clients with a minimum of 1 year of recent experience in the field. As a metal fabricator, you will be responsible for reading and interpreting engineering blueprints, fabricating metal components or structures, and performing quality checks on finished products. You may also be required to set up fabricating machines and design custom templates. Our fabrication team sometimes may be responsible for the cut down and rebuilding of locomotives, Cutting torch experience is a plus.
To ensure success as a metal fabricator on our team, you should have good knowledge of industrial metalwork, an excellent eye for detail, and basic mathematical skills. Ultimately, a top-class metal fabricator expertly constructs high-quality products to exact specifications and dimensions. Our starting pay based on knowledge and skill set.
- Reading and interpreting engineering blueprints/Drawings.
- Utilization of eDrawings to identify and measure parts in assembly.
- Measuring and marking out cutting and bending lines.
- Setting up metalwork machinery needed per job.
- Double-checking design specifications before commencing with cutting work.
- Fabricating and constructing metal components.
- Grinding and finishing completed products.
- Performing quality checks on completed products.
- Conforming with state and company safety regulations.
- Completing job forms.
- Previous work experience as a metal fabricator. (Minimum of 1 year experience in the field.)
- Ability to correctly read a Tape measure and other measurement tools
- Knowledge of welding design and manufacturing procedures.
- Proficiency with metal fabrication tools including shears, rollers, flame cutters, and drill presses, press brakes.
- Basic mathematical and engineering skills.
- Travelling can and will be required
- Overtime will be offered
- Ability to lift and manipulate large metal objects with the use of equipment.
- Ability to stand for long periods.
