Member Service Representative

South Central Power Company has an immediate opening in our call center for a Member Service Representative at our Lancaster, Ohio location. Candidates who have strong customer service experience are encouraged to apply.

The position is responsible for ensuring member satisfaction by handling incoming calls and performing diverse clerical tasks requiring detailed analysis and sound judgment. This position maintains accurate member account information and will communicate with members over the phone and in person regarding billing, collections, capital credits, and other inquiries.

We are looking for an experienced, self-motivated, organized individual who handles situations tactfully and with poise. The successful candidate will demonstrate sound judgment, effective problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal skills. This position reports directly to our Member Services Manager.

What the job requires

- High school diploma. Post-secondary education in Business Administration equivalent to an Associate Degree is preferred.

- Two years of customer service experience. Experience with handling cash.

- Candidates must have strong communication skills.

- Must have basic knowledge of the operation of office equipment, including computers, calculators, fax machines and copiers. Must have the ability to perform arithmetic operations quickly and efficiently and must be proficient on a 10-key calculator and accurately type at least 40 words per minute.
