Mechanical Engineer Intern

Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Intern.

Work Location: Johnson City, TN

Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineer Intern to join our engineering team. This internship provides hands-on experience in designing, analyzing, and improving mechanical systems and components. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, detail-oriented, and excited to contribute to real-world projects.

Primary Responsibilities may include:

- Assist in the design and development of mechanical components and systems

- Create and modify CAD models and engineering drawings

- Support prototyping, testing, and validation activities

- Analyze data and prepare technical reports

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, electrical, and product teams

- Participate in design reviews and contribute ideas for improvements

- Follow engineering standards, safety protocols, and documentation practices

Qualifications:

- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering field

- Basic knowledge of mechanical design principles and engineering fundamentals

- Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)

- Familiarity with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace tools

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
