KCI Engineering Consultants is seeking full-time Mechanical Engineer to perform technical work in support of Nuclear Power Plant projects.
- Calculations including: Pipe sizing, pipe thickness, pump sizing, control valve sizing, heat exchanger sizing, atm. tank sizing, vibration, seismic, etc.
- Develop Block Flow Diagrams, Process Flow Diagrams (including heat and mass balance), and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams.
- Design analysis for mechanical systems
- Engineering change packages
- Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) for structural and thermal simulations
- Software applications: AFT Fathom, ANSYS, AutoCAD, AutoPIPE, CFD, GOTHIC, Pipe-Flo, PIPESTRESS, SolidWorks, others
- Support design modification installation activities
- Nuclear power plant components and systems
- Design, development and delivery of design modification packages, and projects for nuclear power plants
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program
- Experience - at least 2 years’ professional industry experience (position based upon experience)
- Extensive Commercial Nuclear Power Plant Experience
- Advanced technical degree or related coursework
- Professional Engineer Registration (within IL, PA, WA, and others is ideal)
- Solid understanding of codes and standards applicable to industrial design including but not limited to: ASME, API, and others
