DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Picks, packs, stages, issues, returns, delivers and ships tools and materials in accordance with established procedures (includes calibrated tools, weld wire, quality structural shapes and cable).
- Performs transactions related to inventory of tools and materials, including cycle counting.
- Receives, inspects, returns and puts away tools, equipment, materials and supplies in accordance with established receiving procedures. Where applicable, takes samples of received material requiring tests and forwards to laboratory.
- Prepares and stages material for scrap or salvage as directed.
- Creates catalog identification tags for parts and materials.
- Utilizes radio-frequency handheld devices, computers and automated inventory warehousing devices as required in performance of their duties.
- Operates common hand and power tools.
- Operates forklift and other material handling equipment, i.e., pallet jack and power carts, platform trucks, skid steers and auxiliary mounted equipment to transport tools, materials and equipment.
- Loads and unloads vehicles. Signs for material as required.
- Performs material handling activities, including routine local errands related to Logistics functions and miscellaneous yard and warehouse clean-up activities.
- Accepts and inspects materials returned or removed from service.
- Performs basic rigging.
- Operates vehicles to including acquiring a CDL Class B License with tanker and hazmat endorsements to operate fuel trucks.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or as necessary.
- High school education or equivalent.
- Possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
- Successful completion of the Logistics Aptitude Test.
- Successful completion of Skill Check Data Entry Test.
- Ability to obtain valid and appropriate operator’s license and ability to operate material handling equipment e.g. forklift, material cart, van or pick-up truck.
- Ability to obtain and maintain all accessing requirements for SSES, including fitness for duty screening.
- Adequate physical ability to perform manual work associated with job duties.
- Ability to obtain and retain a valid CDL Class B license with appropriate endorsements within 90 days.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment.
- Ability to successfully complete Basic Rigging.
