Overview:


PURPOSE STATEMENT:

Responsibilities:


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Assists the Instrument Supervisor in planning, preparing, scheduling, and assigning daily and project instrumentation and electrical work in the Company’s manufacturing plants.

- Refers to plant design specifications, jurisdictional codes, manufacturers’ documentation, to support the planning of jobs.

- Monitors and provides feedback on the progress of instrumentation and electrical work.

- Contacts and consults with vendors/manufacturers for the installation, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical Makes recommendations for part and equipment orders.

- Responsible for the execution of assigned instrumentation When assigned as lead worker, performs hands-on work towards execution of tasks and provides direction and instruction to personnel assigned to the job.

- Diagnoses and troubleshoots plant instrumentation systems, recommends actions, disassembles/examines/tests mechanisms and circuitry; replaces and repairs defective parts; reassembles instruments; and tests for conformity/ compliance with manufacturers and plant standards.

- Performs DCS and PLC maintenance tasks with direction from the Instrument Supervisor and/or Technical Director, including tuning of controls.

- Assists the Instrument Supervisor and Plant Engineer in producing and maintaining documentation of plant instrumentation systems. Examples include, but are not limited to:

- Drafts work plans and procedures for instrumentation work.

- Field-verifies and updates existing instrumentation drawings and Produces as-built drawings and diagrams as needed.

- Provides instrumentation expertise, analysis, and support to Hazard Analysis, Management of Change, and projects.

- Promotes and demonstrates the Company and Department safety culture to include the reporting of and resolution of unsafe conditions or acts. Completes all EH&S training.

- Complies with all applicable Corporate, Company, and Department rules and policies.


OTHER FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

- As directed and qualified, operates company vehicles including, but not limited to, pickup truck, forklift, and manlift.

- Maintains assigned work area and equipment in a clean, orderly, and safe manner; performs housekeeping duties as required and/or instructed.

- Performs duties and tasks of all lesser grades in work Performs any related work as directed, which may include temporary supervisory duties.


Qualifications:


REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE:

- Technical trade school or equivalent, or a combination of related Knowledge of the operational characteristics of instrumentation, electrical equipment, and components.

- Minimum 5 years of instrumentation experience in a process facility/plant.


SUPERVISION:

- Under general supervision of the Instrument Supervisor.

- Able to steward themselves in a professional and courteous manner to promote a harmonious working

- Able to communicate professionally, courteously, and effectively utilizing standards means of communication within the workplace (i.e., verbal, written, e-mail, phone, text, etc.).


WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

- Working conditions are normal for an industrial plant environment.

- Required to work both indoors and outdoors sometimes at high elevations or in tight spaces under hot and dirty conditions.

- May be required to perform mandatory overtime and emergency call-out work.

- Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
