Teck’s Trail Operations, located in the community of Trail in British Columbia, is one of the world’s largest fully integrated zinc and lead smelting and refining complexes. Reporting to a Group Leader, we are looking for an Instrument Mechanic Apprentice who is eager to learn and develop their skillset. In this role, you will work under the supervision of a journeyman who will instruct you, and give you tasks to complete each day that center around your development needs. This will include inspecting, maintaining, repairing of industrial equipment.
- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
- Install, calibrate, repair and maintain field instrumentation and final control elements
- Perform in a team-oriented environment of maintenance peers
- Completion of Grade 12 (please submit a copy of certificate to application)
- Pre-apprentice as Instrument Mechanic is required at a minimum
- Knowledge of Foxboro and ABB Systems would be considered an asset
- Knowledge of Modicon PLC’s and Wonderware HMI’s considered an asset
- WHIMIS certification
- Experience in an industrial environment
- Valid driver’s license
- Knowledge of and ability to safely us basic hand tools
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
