Production Shop Operators: Full Time

Midwest Metal Products, Inc. is a locally family owned, Just-In-Time manufacturer requiring its teammates to work safely, efficiently and on a variety of tasks and machines throughout the shift. Only those with reliable transportation and attendance and great work ethic can be part of our team. Teammates rely on each other to be there, be on task, take initiative to help where help is needed and take direction from our line leaders. Our Machine Operators are required to lift 50 lbs., operate machines that bend, cut steel, weld, and punch steel. Everyone is responsible for keeping the shop clean. Experience in manufacturing required, experience in machine operation preferred. All employees are trained in all aspects of the production process including packing and shipping.

Certifications after training in Forklift and Overhead Crane operation are also available. Midwest Metal Products is a clean, air-conditioned manufacturing plant located in Michigan City, Indiana. We hire in a $18 per hour and within the first month you will be earning $19 after having mastered the first two of the eleven skills. The skills learned in the production environment are designed for you become proficient in each one and receive a $0.50 to $1.50 raise based on the specific skill attained. It is a clear path to $26 per hour for team players that are eager to learn and work effectively with an opportunity to become a line leader. We run ten-hour shifts that require every other weekend mandatory work as needed. After one to four months on the day shift, we cycle people through a night shift for four weeks. The night shift has no weekend work requirement and a $3 pay differential. Permanent night shifts are also available after training.
