Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shop Supervisor to lead our team in a shop fabrication environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fabrication, construction and welding, with the ability to manage daily operations effectively. This role requires hands-on experience with various fabrication techniques and tools, ensuring that all projects meet quality standards and deadlines. We currently work 4 - 10 hour days with some Friday's and I am looking for a trust worthy individual with dedication to his work ethic and reliability. This job has room for advancement and pay is negotiable with the right person.
- Supervise and coordinate daily shop activities to ensure efficient workflow and productivity.
- Oversee the operation of welding processes including MIG, TIG, FCAW, and plasma cutting.
- Ensure compliance with AWS codes & standards during all fabrication processes.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings for project execution.
- Train and mentor shop personnel on proper use of hand tools, power tools, and machinery including press brake machines and forklifts.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and work areas to maintain safety standards.
- Manage inventory of materials such as structural shapes, plates and piping for ongoing projects.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely completion of assembly tasks and manufacturing goals.
- Implement quality control measures to uphold product integrity throughout the fabrication process.
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a construction or metal fabrication environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in welding, fabricating, rigging, loading, and unloading trucks
- Ability to operate cranes and forklifts safely and efficiently.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with basic math proficiency for calculations related to fabrication tasks.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately for project execution.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team while maintaining a safe work environment.
