The Manager, Field Training & Development plays a key role in shaping and executing field learning and development strategies aligned with Precision Drilling’s high-performance, high-value strategy. This role oversees field learning operations and leads the Field Coaches and Trainers responsible for enhancing the capabilities, performance, and leadership of field employees. The ideal candidate is an experienced people leader with strong communication skills and a passion for sourcing and implementing innovative solutions that support Precision’s field development objectives.

Day In The Life

- Lead field development operations across the US ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

- Provide direction and support to Field Coaches and Trainers, enabling consistent, high-impact development tailored to the needs of US Operations.

- Conduct needs assessments, design and deliver learning programs, identify optimal content and delivery methods, monitor results, and communicate progress to stakeholders.

- Promote a culture of continuous learning, shifting focus from one-time training to sustained development by driving initiatives that strengthen the technical and leadership capabilities of field teams.

- Collaborate with Operations, HSE, and HRBPs to identify current and projected future skills gaps and deliver relevant learning solutions.

- Partner with cross-border Talent Management & Learning colleagues to share knowledge, identify efficiencies, and ensure consistency in processes and offerings.


What We Need From You

- ≥ 2 years of experience leading individuals and teams

- ≥ 5 years of experience in drilling operations or related oilfield sectors

- Learning & Development Expertise: Proven ability to design, facilitate, and deliver high-impact learning programs using diverse modalities, informed by needs analyses and competency frameworks to drive measurable performance outcomes.

- Strategic Partnership & Execution: Strong track record partnering with Operations and key stakeholders to implement scalable, data-driven learning initiatives for field employees, supported by robust project management and adaptability in fast-paced environments.

- Tools, Technology & Communication: Advanced proficiency with LMS platforms (SuccessFactors), digital content creation tools, and Microsoft applications, combined with excellent facilitation, communication, and the ability to leverage technology for efficiency—including willingness to support learning through regional and international field visits.
