The Manager - Supply Planning is responsible for leading all aspects of the supply planning process at Benchmade, ensuring alignment between demand, capacity, and material availability through strategic planning, inventory optimization, and cross-functional alignment.
This role partners closely with demand planning, purchasing, manufacturing, and commercial teams to ensure product availability, minimize risk, and support business growth.
This role oversees the execution of MRP, development of capacity and supply plans, building the production schedule, and ultimately the creation of finished goods availability strategies to service the demand plan.
The Manager - Supply Planning will partner cross-functionally to identify risks, resolve bottlenecks, and provide forward-looking visibility to support business growth and customer satisfaction.
With a strong focus on data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement, the Manager - Supply Planning also helps shape scalable processes and tools to support a dynamic, high-mix product environment.
- Lead the development and execution of supply plans that align with demand forecasts, production capacity, and inventory targets.
- Prepare content and participate in the monthly SIOP (S&OP) process, alerting the business to any areas of constraints and bottlenecks to servicing the business as well as supply plan status updates
- Proactively identify supply risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure continuity and responsiveness.
- Support new product introductions and product transitions with robust supply strategies and planning execution.
- Leverage data analytics to monitor KPIs, identify trends, and inform strategic decisions.
- Work closely with manufacturing and process engineering departments to ensure a feasible capacity plan is up to date in the systems and reflective of BKC manufacturing capabilities.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align supply planning with broader business goals and customer expectations.
- Communicate any relevant supply constraints or risks to business partners, ensuring awareness of how the supply plan and production execution is fulfilling the demand needs.
- Conduct what-if scenarios to determine capabilities to service unplanned orders or major changes to the plan.
- Champion process improvements and technology adoption to enhance planning capabilities and scalability.
- Contribute to cost optimization initiatives through effective planning and inventory management.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency.
- Support projects and initiatives of the broader business as the Subject Matter Expert for supply planning

- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field required; MBA preferred.
- 8 years of experience in supply planning, production scheduling, material planning or related supply chain roles
- Experience in high-mix, high-volume manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency in ERP and APS systems; direct experience with Syspro ERP and PlanetTogether APS preferred.
- Demonstrated success managing SIOP processes and integrating new products into planning workflows.
- Strong analytical and financial acumen with a track record of driving cost and inventory improvements.
- Knowledge of Lean principles and experience coaching teams in continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.
- Proven ability to manage complex deliverables across multiple projects.
