JOB TITLE: Manager Asset Optimization

REPORTS TO: SVP Asset Optimization/M&A
Kindle Energy LLC (“Kindle”) specializes in the management, optimization, and development of power generation in the United States and Canada and is a portfolio company of Blackstone Group Inc. Blackstone is a leading global alternative asset manager with $1 trillion of total assets under management. Currently, Kindle manages 10.7 GW of generation in Ohio, Indiana, Texas, Louisiana, Colorado, Virginia, and Pennsylvania with a 610 MW CCGT project under construction in West Virginia and a simple cycle CT project under construction in Colorado.
Kindle is currently recruiting for the role of
Manager Asset Optimization. This position will report to the Sr. Vice President Asset Optimization and will be based in our Princeton, NJ office with a travel requirement of >10% in the domestic United States.
Responsibilities:
- Support business development opportunities through acquisitions, divestitures, major projects, and revenue enhancement initiatives
- Develop and lead pro-forma LBO modeling to support acquisition, divestiture, and optimization strategies
- Develop and implement both short-term and long-term strategies to enhance the value of Kindle Energy managed assets
- Identify and execute optimization projects at Kindle Energy managed facilities
- Direct financial and economic analyses with regards to identified optimization projects
- Manage real estate issues at the Kindle Energy managed assets
- Lead property tax negotiations for any impacted facilities
- Negotiate contracts and agreements on behalf of Kindle Energy or Kindle Energy managed assets with various counterparties including partners, customers, and regulatory agencies
- Coordinate across a diverse organization in pursuit of business initiatives specifically with the operations and commercial teams
- Develop a fundamental market analysis for each of the major Independent System Operators (ISO’s) in the U.S.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, engineering, finance, economics or related field, and MBA or equivalent degree
- 3-5 years of experience in the successful commercial management of energy assets preferred
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex business initiatives in the energy sector
- Knowledge of governmental, legal, and environmental regulations that impact the electric markets
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated computer competency
