JOB SUMMARY: Work safely and accurately to maintain/repair the facility, equipment and fixtures. Will assist other maintenance personnel in performing preventive maintenance, diagnosis, repairs as well as new equipment installation.
· Apply technical knowledge and skills to repair and maintain industrial machinery and equipment such as cranes, material handling equipment, band saws, welding power sources, welding wire feeders, gas/diesel engines and buildings.
· Ensure all work is performed and completed in conformance with any related codes, guidelines or standards established by a manufacturer or regulating body.
· Ensure repairs and maintenance to all equipment and facilities are performed in a neat professional manner.
· Ensure a safe work environment by following prescribed guidelines.
· Performs welding, carpentry and repairs of electrical or mechanical equipment.
· Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
· Trade school certification/Training in maintenance related field (experience may substitute for training)
· 2-4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment; exposure to hydraulic systems, crane systems and industrial manufacturing equipment preferred
· Possess a strong sense of urgency and self-motivation; frequently works alone in production environment
· Work independently and/or as a willing cooperative team member.
· Willingly take directions from Supervisory and Lead personnel.
· Follow quality procedures and demonstrate strong safety awareness.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Regularly required to stand, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. Frequently required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and talk or hear. Frequently lift and or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Comfort with heights is preferred.
In general, the employee will be exposed to a structural steel fabrication environment with excessive noise levels. Frequent exposure to outside weather conditions; frequently works near moving mechanical parts; frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
