Rainy River Mine
Situated in beautiful northwestern Ontario, 65 km northwest of Fort Frances, the Rainy River Mine is an open pit and underground, gold and silver producing, residential mine site.
The Rainy River Mine, located adjacent to the Ontario / Minnesota border is 65 Kilometers northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario and is situated half way between Winnipeg, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario. The area is home to more than 130 species of birds and large populations of moose, black bear and deer. If you enjoy outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, winter sports and lake country then this is an area you will love to live and work in.

Schedule: Shift 7/7 – 12 hour days and nights
Position Reports To: Senior Mobile Maintenance Planner
The role of the Mobile Maintenance Short-Term Scheduler is to organize and influence the safe and efficient delivery of reliability centered maintenance practices and programs for the open pit mining fleet. A specific focus will be working with the maintenance crew and operations general dispatch to organize and execute the weekly maintenance plan and day-to-day maintenance activities.
- Interpreting the weekly maintenance schedule and coordinating the execution with the Mine Maintenance Supervisor.
- Communicate with Mine Operations Dispatch and Mine Operations Supervisor to schedule time of weekly planned work.
- Focus on maintenance plans and practices in the 1 day to 2-week space.
- Communicate with Mine Dispatch and Mine Supervisor to understand ongoing break-in work and allocate appropriate resources according to priorities.
- Maintain down time codes, statuses, and estimated up times in downtime tracking program (Maintenance Monitor).
- Daily review of previous days or shifts equipment downtime with Mine Maintenance Supervisor.
- Review daily pre-op inspections, create work orders, and allocate resources for P1 and P2 work accordingly.
- Create P1 and P2 work orders for break-in and found work.
- Coordinate parts and material requirements for P1 and P2 work orders with the warehouse and supply chain team.
- Close out P1 and P2 work orders with appropriate information.
- Complete shift close out report and crossover with incoming Short-Term Scheduler and Mine Maintenance Supervisor.
- Complete radio check-ins with surface mechanics.
- 3 or more years of experience within heavy equipment or industrial setting.
- Minimum grade 12 or equivalent education.
- Ability to read and interpret OEM schematics and Operations and Maintenance documents.
- Previous experience in maintenance scheduling, administration, dispatch, or planning
- Previous experience with SAP software is desired. Previous experience with CMMS software including, but not limited to JD Edwards, Oracle, MIMS/Ellipse, Pronto, or other would be an asset.
- Previous experience with Wenco dispatch system (Maintenance Monitor) or similar.
- Excellent Microsoft Office Suite software skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to adapt to tight deadlines and immediate changes in priorities.
- Able to work with minimal supervision while delivering superior results.
- Ability to work safely and effectively in a team environment and independently.
- A demonstrated commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement in assigned roles and responsibilities.
- Ability to work with all levels of the organization.
The anticipated salary for this position will be between $80,000 to $100,000.
