Position Title: Maintenance Planner – Process Maintenance (SX/LSX)
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning, coordinating, and scheduling all maintenance activities within the SX/LSX Process Maintenance area. This role ensures maintenance tasks are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with OEM specifications, industry's best practices, and all safety and environmental standards. The Maintenance Planner plays a critical role in minimizing production impacts by developing detailed job plans, managing resources, and supporting continuous improvement of maintenance reliability.
- Develop maintenance plans for activities scheduled 1–4 weeks in advance.
- Plan and organize extended shutdowns for process plants and equipment.
- Prioritize and plan corrective maintenance backlog, preventive maintenance (PM), and periodic tasks.
- Minimize disruptions to production by strategically scheduling maintenance tasks.
- Define detailed scopes of work, required skills, materials, tools, drawings, and safety considerations.
- Determine job “What,” “How,” and “Duration” for work planned 2–4 weeks out and for extended shutdowns.
- Determine job “When” and “Who” for the weekly work schedule.
- Ensure all planning supports safe execution based on availability of labor, contractors, parts, and equipment.
- Create time-based, performance-based, and condition-based maintenance plans in SAP.
- Maintain equipment master data, measuring points, and maintenance strategies.
- Improve and maintain task lists, Bill of Materials (BOMs), maintenance plans, and equipment hierarchies.
- Build and maintain job kits to support efficient execution.
- Manage work center and planner group backlog by planning, monitoring progress, and closing work orders.
- Update failure and breakdown codes after root cause identification.
- Coordinate and submit requests for new material master's and stocked materials.
- Obtain quotes, create purchase requisitions, track approvals, and support purchase order follow-up.
- Monitor delivery times, expedite critical items, and ensure materials meet job requirements.
- Identify and implement best practices to enhance job planning quality and maintenance efficiency.
- Support predictive and preventive maintenance strategies aligned with reliability goals.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, both verbally and in writing.
- Proficiency with SAP, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook), and mobile maintenance applications.
- Knowledge of Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) methodologies.
- Strong deductive reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to navigate complex purchasing procedures and corporate policies.
- Working knowledge of MSHA, environmental, and safety regulations relevant to the job.
- Understanding of project management, predictive maintenance, equipment repair practices, and maintenance planning fundamentals.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- English language fluency required.
- Valid driver's license required.
