The 10-week summer internship program being offered by Dresser Utility Solutions is designed to give students the opportunity for career exploration and development in chosen fields of study. This will give the intern the opportunity to use skills learned in his/her degree programs and the chance to learn new skills. The Maintenance Intern will learn fundamental maintenance practices while contributing to the safe and efficient operation of the facility.
- Conduct, support, and lead identified process improvement projects.
- Help update, organize, and improve preventative maintenance (PM) schedules to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
- Review PM checklists, document findings, and suggest improvements to enhance task accuracy and efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records in the maintenance management system (CMMS), helping streamline workflows and improve PM completion rates.
- Follow all safety procedures, wear appropriate PPE, and participate in safety training.
- Document work completed and report equipment issues to the supervisor.
- Works together with people from the business unit. Contacts are under guidance and/or geared towards specifying activities. This individual will plan activities towards execution of assigned projects and will gain/give explanations on technical issues.
- Communicates with direct team and supervisor.
- Presents to internal teams on metrics, project status, and research.
- Enrolled in an accredited two-year trade or mechanical engineering program.
- Minimum GPA requirement of 3.0.
- Must be highly collaborative and able to work in a team-based environment.
- Must have excellent problem analysis and problem resolution skills at both a strategic and functional level.
- Must have the ability to identify trends and establish proactive corrective actions.
- Exceptional computer skills are required, including extensive knowledge of spreadsheet, presentation and database software, proficiency with various email, calendaring, meeting management, and related communications software.
- At the conclusion of the internship, interns will showcase their core competencies in an executive presentation to present accomplishments and lessons learned through the course of the internship.
