SummitET is seeking a 1099 Independent Contractor to serve as a Licensing Support Specialist supporting the Washington Department of Health. This part-time consulting role requires approximately 30–40 hours per month and is remote with periodic coordination with DOH staff.
- Complete licensing actions assigned by WADOH, including second-person QA of draft licenses (particularly 10 CFR 35 medical licenses).
- Verify standard license condition wording for accuracy and compliance.
- Evaluate and provide guidance on licensing issues related to emerging medical technologies.
- Review and advise on complex medical amendments.
- Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering, Medical Physics, Health Physics, or related discipline.
- NRC License Reviewer Qualification Journal completion (per NRC Manual Chapter 1246).
- Advanced coursework or experience in medical uses of radioactive materials preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of NRC medical licensing regulations (10 CFR Part 35).
- Experience with QA review of medical RAM licenses.
- Ability to assess complex medical licensing amendments and emerging technologies.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
