Key Responsibilities:
•Lead, Mentor & Manage: Spearhead residential solar installation crews, fostering a culture of exceptional safety, unparalleled quality, and high performance. Provide ongoing training, coaching, and development for team members.
•Technical Excellence & Installation Oversight: Perform and oversee all aspects of electrical work for residential solar PV and battery energy storage system (ESS) installations. This includes main service panel upgrades, complex inverter integration (e.g., SolarEdge, Enphase, Sol-Ark, and other brands), and ensuring flawless system commissioning.
•Code Compliance & Permitting: Review and approve electrical plan sets, ensuring compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), New Jersey state codes, and all local jurisdictional requirements. Affix your electrical stamp for permitting purposes and oversee or directly manage the electrical portion of the permitting and inspection process, ensuring successful outcomes that are best for the homeowner and profitable for the company.
•Expert Guidance & Troubleshooting: Serve as the primary technical expert for the electrical team. Provide decisive guidance on advanced troubleshooting for solar PV and ESS, best-practice installation techniques, and the integration of emerging solar technologies.
•Strategic Collaboration & Growth: Collaborate directly with the CEO and senior management on strategic initiatives, including market expansion, development of installation teams, evaluation of new products/technologies, and continuous optimization of internal processes.
•Team Development: Actively participate in the recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of skilled electrical team members.
•Safety & Quality Assurance: Champion and rigorously enforce all on-site safety protocols (OSHA standards) without compromise. Implement and monitor quality control measures to ensure every installation meets SAVKAT INC’s exacting standards.
•Professional Communication: Maintain clear, courteous, and professional communication with homeowners, local inspectors, utility representatives, and all internal team members.
•Culture of Improvement: Drive a winning culture of continuous improvement, encouraging creativity, proactive problem-solving, and ongoing professional development within your teams.
Required Qualifications:
•Valid New Jersey Master Electrician License / Electrical Contractor License (REQUIRED and in good standing).
•Minimum of 5+ years of proven experience as a licensed electrician.
•Minimum of 3-4+ years of direct, hands-on experience leading residential solar PV installations, including complex projects and integrated battery storage systems.
•Demonstrable expertise with main service panel upgrades (MPUs) and a variety of inverter and ESS technologies.
•Proven track record of successfully managing, training, and mentoring electrical installation crews to achieve high standards of safety and quality.
•In-depth, expert-level knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), particularly Articles 690 and 705, and all relevant New Jersey electrical codes, building codes, and utility interconnection standards.
•Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and working from electrical schematics, blueprints, one-line diagrams, and technical manuals.
•Exceptional leadership, communication (written and verbal), problem-solving, and organizational skills.
•An unwavering commitment to the highest standards of safety, quality workmanship, and customer satisfaction.
•Valid New Jersey Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
•NABCEP PV Installation Professional certification (Highly Preferred and Valued).
•Extensive experience with a diverse range of battery energy storage system (ESS) manufacturers and installation protocols.
•Experience in recruiting and building successful technical teams.
