Job Summary:
We are seeking a licensed and experienced Master Electrician to lead and oversee electrical work for residential solar energy systems. The ideal candidate will ensure safe, efficient, and code-compliant installation and maintenance of photovoltaic (PV) systems, battery storage, and related electrical components. This role also involves supervising crews, supporting inspections, and ensuring project success in a fast-growing renewable energy environment.
Key Responsibilities:
•Plan, install, and commission solar PV systems and associated electrical equipment (inverters, battery systems, disconnects, combiner boxes, etc.).
•Ensure all electrical work is compliant with the National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and utility interconnection requirements.
•Supervise and train journeyman electricians and apprentices on solar-specific installations and safety procedures.
•Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and diagnostics to ensure operational efficiency and code compliance.
•Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and utility companies for system design reviews, permits, inspections, and interconnections.
•Maintain accurate documentation, including single-line diagrams, as-builts, and inspection records.
•Lead the electrical portion of site surveys and pre-construction evaluations.
•Ensure job sites are safe and organized, adhering to OSHA and company safety standards.
Qualifications:
•Valid Master Electrician license in applicable state or jurisdiction.
•Minimum 5–7 years of experience as an electrician, with at least 2 years working in solar PV installations.
•Strong understanding of solar power systems, including grid-tied and off-grid configurations, energy storage (battery backup), and hybrid systems.
•Ability to read and interpret solar system plans, one-line electrical diagrams, and technical manuals.
•Familiarity with permitting processes and utility interconnection procedures.
•Proficient in the use of electrical testing equipment and hand tools.
•Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
•Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
•NABCEP certification (PV Installation Professional or equivalent) is highly desirable.
•Experience with battery storage systems (e.g., Tesla Powerwall, Enphase).
•Knowledge of PV system monitoring platforms and remote diagnostics.
•Experience in commercial/industrial solar projects is a plus.
