Opportunity to join a well-established but growing marketing desk, which offers trading capabilities and risk management services to a broad array of corporate and financial customers.
The marketing desk covers all energy and related markets worldwide – creating an opportunity to learn about very diverse subjects and see markets from a higher perspective, meanwhile creating the need to watch many different moving parts.
Although some experience may be beneficial, it is not a necessity as full training will be provided. Even while spread across three continents, the current global team of six are in constant communication and have a culture of continual learning, ensuring the successful candidate will continue to develop and expand their understanding over time. This role will cover both North and South American clients while collaborating with other marketing desks with multi-national clients.
The ideal candidate will be financially literate and have a good awareness of global news & developments and overall trends. They will also be able to quickly absorb news, understand its potential significance for the markets and condense that into simple and easily understood messages.
The role requires an ability to multi-task while still ensuring accuracy to service the diverse customer base. As the role will develop increasingly into a customer-facing position, it requires someone who has good communication skills and is able to engage well with customers.
- Market analysis, collation of major headlines & written market commentary
- Coverage of client communications / instant messenger etc
- Trade execution of simple transactions
- Trade entry & cross checking of confirmations
- Assistance with pitchbooks & presentations
- Frequent touch points with existing and prospective clients
- 0-3 years of relevant experience
- Strong mathematical background
