We’re seeking a Market Development Specialist with expertise in wholesale electricity markets and demand response. This role will help Leap evaluate future markets and programs to enter, and then coordinate the cross-functional launch process for chosen markets/programs.
- Identifying, assessing, and prioritizing the most promising new market and product opportunities for Leap’s virtual power plant (VPP) technology platform.
- Cultivating relationships and expansion opportunities with Utilities, Retailers, and other buyers of energy, capacity, and ancillary services in North American markets.
- Working across internal teams, as well as with clients and partners, to achieve market entry success.
- Tracking market trends and developing strategies to expand Leap’s presence into new markets.
- Organizing market and product information to provide input to our product/engineering teams to develop our platform.
- 3-5 years of experience in wholesale electricity markets, policy, utility demand response programs, and/or new market entry, or working with Distributed Energy Resources.
- Can investigate and synthesize complicated policies and market rules, and effectively communicate key concepts to a variety of stakeholders
- Are proficient in policy analysis, market research and assessment, and/or data analysis
- Are detail-oriented and can manage multiple tasks and/or projects effectively
- Experience with North American, Japan, the UK, and/or European electricity markets.
- Experience managing cross-functional projects with a diverse group of stakeholders
- Are opportunity-focused and enjoy working cross-functionally across an organization to achieve consensus and jointly launch new markets, but are also perfectly capable of working autonomously.
- Experience working in a remote or hybrid environment or demonstrating the ability to be productive and engaged, manage time effectively, work independently and succeed in a fully remote environment.
- Experience working in a distributed teams environment or demonstrating the ability to virtually communicate and collaborate effectively with team members across multiple time zones, using remote communication tools such as Slack, Zoom and ClickUp (or other project management platforms)
