Reporting to the Sales Manager, the Junior Sales Associate
will provide administrative sales support to our sales team. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about clean technology, technical sales, and supporting client selling activities in the manufacturing and energy sectors. It is an entry level job appropriate for a recent graduate who is looking to develop a career in technical sales.
- Sales support starting with administrative tasks and growing into client selling activities
- Organize client events (social events, demonstrations, lunch and learns, trade shows)
- Support preparation and attend internal sales meetings
- Develop and maintain presentations, communications and other marketing/sales material
- Participate in creating and tracking quotations to clients
- Curate content to support external marketing team with their deliverables
- Learn and apply sales processes including technical understanding of product and applications
- Use Customer Relationship Management software reporting and tools
- Job shadow with existing sales team members as knowledge is developed
- Assist in identifying and qualifying potential leads in key markets (remote power, industrial, defense, etc.) by cold calls, emails, digital channels or meeting with potential clients
- Stay up to date on clean energy industry trends, competitors, and product advancements
- Support other related teams for sales and client success including inside sales, product management, project management and engineering
- Willing to travel including domestic in short term and long term potential for international
- Technical degree/diploma with business/commercial interests or business degree with technical interests/capability (mechanical, electrical or instrumentation technology preferred)
- Up to 2 years’ experience, including summer positions, internships, or junior roles
- Organized, on-time completion of tasks and delivers on commitments
- Demonstrated examples of customer-centric thinking
- Technical aptitude and genuine interest in career in sales and marketing
- Business acumen with ideas for how to grow and develop sales opportunities
- Strong presentation development and delivery skills
- Good at problem solving; able to resolve issues and overcome challenges
- Independent, willing to take on new tasks in a variety of areas
- Pleasant and personable disposition and takes pride in building positive relationships
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Open to work cross-functionally internally and with a variety of external clients
- Ability to operate independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Culturally open and observant of societal norms, even in new cultural experiences
- Willing to travel (limited in near term but future up to 30% domestic and/or international)
