- High School diploma with three (3) years of experience in a nuclear, military, or other related technical field
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Sec+, etc. are a plusJob Description for IT Technician:
This position is responsible for the configuration, administration, security, and deployment of IT assets used at domestic and international nuclear facilities by the GE Vernova Hitachi Field Services team. IT Technicians are responsible for imaging, patching, and configuring compute devices such as PC’s, Laptops, and Servers. As well as network equipment such as access points, cellular routers, and satellite communications packages. You will also work with GE Field Engineering and Tooling teams to ensure proper operability of IT assets before it is sent to customer sites. Other responsibilities include communicating with the PSA Supervisor when there are IT asset limitations or failures, and/or safety concerns.
- Ability to work independently with little direction with a “Can Do” attitude
- Read and comprehend detailed work instructions in accordance with written procedures
- Experience administering Windows systems and users in multi-domain environments
- Experience developing and implementing PowerShell, and Batch scripting solutions
- Experience with analog and digital electronics troubleshooting
- Basic understanding of network concepts and information systems security best practices
- Support multiple product lines with IT support and ensuring hardware/software issues are resolved in a timely manner
- Prior nuclear experience with an understanding of the nuclear outage work scope and tooling usage is a plus
- Continuous focus on the safe and efficient execution of assignments
- Maintain safe work area and excellent nuclear practices
- Responsible for following and evaluating processes, procedures, and applications
- An excellent record of dependability, availability, attendance, and punctuality is essential
- Strong communication skills – both verbal and written
Physical Requirements for IT Technician:
- Must be able to work in heightened environments.
- Must be able to carry 20lbs.
- Must be able to push, pull, lift, climb, and extend as required for the job.
- Must be able to work in high heat environments.
- Able to stand, bend & kneel for extended periods of time.
- Able to lift 50lbs.
- Able to work in a confined space/ highly congested work area.
- Able to wear full body protective clothing, to include face shield.
- Able to work in radiation control areas.
