Reporting to the IT Manager, the IT Technician II will provide end-user support and be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of company desktops, applications, and IT assets. This role will support both local and remote users, ensuring a consistent, reliable, and secure technology environment. The IT Technician will be responsible for user onboarding, maintaining IT equipment, and promoting best practices to ensure good IT hygiene across the organization.
This position requires hands-on experience with Windows environments, Active Directory, and Microsoft Entra, as well as familiarity with Azure-based services. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, organized, and capable of supporting both office staff and field technicians.
- Provide day-to-day IT support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and end-user applications.
- Administer user accounts, permissions, and access through Active Directory, Microsoft Entra, and related systems.
- Support employee onboarding and offboarding, ensuring users are properly provisioned and de-provisioned.
- Maintain and track IT equipment, licenses, and software assets.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues for local and remote users.
- Provide guidance and training to end users to encourage good IT hygiene and best practices.
- Support Azure services and integrations to ensure reliable access to cloud resources.
- Work with vendors and service providers to resolve issues as needed.
- Document support activities, procedures, and resolutions for knowledge sharing and consistency.
- Participate in security initiatives and promote a culture of secure IT practices across the company.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related discipline (or equivalent work experience).
- 3+ years of IT support or IT administration experience.- Experience supporting Windows operating systems and end-user applications in a business environment.
- Hands-on experience with Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure services and tools.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with both hardware and software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service–focused approach.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Experience supporting both office-based staff and remote/field technicians.
- Knowledge of IT asset management best practices.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration.
- Experience in energy, utilities, or industrial environments.
