VELCO’s Advancing Grid Intelligence through Learning Experiences (AGILE) Program is a summer internship opportunity for undergraduate and graduate college students. Based on principles of agile project management, AGILE Interns will make meaningful and tangible contributions to VELCO’s strategic projects to protect reliability and affordability of the transmission system.
How You Will Make An Impact
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented
Telecommunications Internto join our team. This internship offers hands-on experience in network infrastructure, wireless communications, and system maintenance, providing valuable exposure to real-world telecom operations.
As a Telecommunications Intern, you will gain hands-on experience with telecom network systems, mentorship from industry professionals and exposure to cutting-edge communication technologies.
Examples Include
- Assist in the installation, testing, and maintenance of telecommunications systems (e.g., fiber optic, wireless, VoIP, or cellular).
- Support network monitoring, troubleshooting, and documentation activities.
- Participate in site surveys and equipment configuration.
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians to optimize system performance.
- Prepare technical reports, diagrams, and inventory records.
- Learn and adhere to company safety and quality standards.
Who You Are
Currently pursuing a
Bachelor’s or Master’s degreein Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Knowledge/Skills
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (LAN/WAN, IP addressing, routing, switching).
- Familiarity with telecommunications hardware and software tools is a plus.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Compensation Range
$14.50 - $17.50 - $21.50/hour
This compensation range represents the minimum, midpoint and maximum pay for this position. Individual offers will be based on various factors including, but not limited to, qualifications, education, skills, competencies, and experience. Please note that most offers for new employees fall under the midpoint of the range, allowing room for continued salary growth. Base pay is just one component of our total compensation package, which may also include comprehensive benefits, generous paid time off and incentive compensation (bonus) potential.
