SUMMARY:
This Inside Sales Representative position for the Wholesale fuels business division is an integral member of the Sales team responsible for ensuring valued customer relationships, securing new business development opportunities in the energy market space with a focus on propane and petroleum product lines, and driving profitable sales and margin growth across our energy footprint.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Prospect, develop, and secure new customer business within a multi-state region. Priority responsibility for the development of profitable propane and petroleum-based fuel sales in collaboration with the inside sales and outside sales team members.
•Makes inside sales calls on a regular basis to cultivate and maintain relationships with strategic prospects and accounts, as well as established accounts.
•Work closely with sales leadership and management to assist in the achievement of overall growth and profitability goals.
•Document and maintain accurate and timely sales report data.
•Ensures the accurate and timely completion of sales orders in the customer information system.
•Develop a working knowledge of Company’s products and services offerings, sales policies, processes, systems, and practices, as well as other related company information systems.
•Attend sales meetings, sales training, continuing education, and other related events and functions in alignment with the daily responsibilities of the position.
•Represent the Company in a professional, dignified, and ethical manner.
•Provide customer sales and pricing proposals via inside sales communication channels.
•Works in a collaborative office team environment with the Tri-Trucking dispatch team to deliver a valued customer experience to communities served.
•Duties & responsibilities may be modified as directed by management.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This job operates primarily in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and mobile devices. There is limited overnight travel to meet customers.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is largely a sedentary role. The employee will sit and or stand most of their shift, view computer screens, paperwork and filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open cabinets bending or standing, stoop, and pull, or kneel as necessary. The employee must occasionally pull, lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Required:
•Solid skills in interpersonal telephone communications.
•Demonstrated written and oral communication skills.
•Prioritizing tasks, responsiveness, negotiation, project management, personal office management, organizational techniques, and resourcefulness.
•Understanding of financial and accounting basics
•Experience and knowledge in the utilization of software applications:
•Microsoft Office, Customer Information Systems (such as Cargas), and Pricing models
•Basic technical knowledge and understanding of fuel operations and related technologies.
Preferred:
•Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, marketing, or technical discipline. (Preferred)
•Experience within liquid energy distribution and sales (Preferred).
